Rick Mattoon is president and technical director of the American Tattooing Institute. The Institute is a leading provider of web-based training and certification solutions designed to accelerate learning in the tattooing and piercing industry.

Before launching the American Tattooing Institute, Rick was the clinical coordinator and instructor for the Scottsdale Mayo Clinic Radiography Program. He is a graduate of the Mayo School of Allied Sciences in Rochester, Minnesota. In addition to designing and developing allied health programs in the Mayo System, Rick has extensive experience in interventional and clinical procedures that require sterile conditions. Rick has also been a certified Red Cross instructor for universal precautions, basic life support/first aid and occupational injury prevention.

Rick is an active member of professional organizations including the National Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors, The Association of Educators in Radiologic Sciences, The American Society of Radiologic Technologists as well as the International Society of Radiographers and Radiologic Technologists. He also works as a liaison between multiple industries and federal and state regulatory officials.
